Jordan Baker

I'm Jordan Baker. I've been shipping software for over 20 years: first inside large organizations including IBM, Rogers, Yellow Pages, and the Ontario Government, then in startups, then on my own products.

In 2016 I launched Focuster, a productivity SaaS I still build and operate today. Ten years of being the only person on call for a production system teaches you what actually matters: tests, observability, boring deploys, and honest tradeoffs.

Most recently I spent several years as a staff engineer at a hardware and video surveillance company, through mid-2026, doing the kind of work I now do for clients: hard fixes, infrastructure, mentoring, and making systems trustworthy.

Scryent is just me. When you hire it, you get my hands on your codebase, not a team you have never met.
